Jennifer has been writing ever since she could hold a pencil.
Her early works were mostly abstract cards to her parents and hastily scribbled notes to
the North Pole. In fourth grade, she created her very own newspaper. Although the
articles were fiction and the crosswords easy, it was a defining moment.
Because that's when Jennifer realized she always wanted to write; loved to write; had to write.
Today, Jennifer's heart belongs to kidlit. She is an award-winning author, pre-kindergarten teacher, and former marketing guru. She’s written everything from multi-media campaigns to radio ads, brochures to blogs. These days, Jennifer is a regular feature contributor to FACES magazine, having written over 60 non-fiction articles & interviews for Cricket Media.
She is also very active in the kidlit community. She's a member of SCBWI, Julie Hedlund's 12 x 12, Courage to Create with The Writing Barn, Children's Book Academy, & a lively informative panelist for various kidlit projects including My Messy Muse and Picture Book Palooza Speaker. In fact, she loves kidlit so much, she's the co-founder/co-creater of #SunWriteFun, a non-fiction picture book writing contest.
PS She’s also pretty brilliant at Scrabble and making heritage chili sauce,
but lousy when it comes to catching frisbees or using an iron.
(Does anyone even use an iron any more?!).
